Cosmosphere - Around Hutchinson

We stayed at the Best Western Sun Dome in South Hutchinson. Friday evening we ate dinner and then, from the hotel, we found a dark site about 8 miles south of town to set up Dick's new telescope, a Celestron FirstScope 114EQ. Park described the sky and the objects we saw, the moon at first quarter, Saturn with distinct rings and one visible moon, Jupiter with three visible moons, Mizar, and the Orion Nebula.

We ate dinner at Montana Mike's Steakhouse, a chain with reasonably-priced steak dinners.

We ate breakfast Saturday morning at a local coffee shop, Brenda's Cafe. We were among very few visitors; most customers were local.

This grain elevator greeted us as we entered and as we left Hutchinson.
