Disneyland - Around the Park
We met Lucy at school Tuesday night after the banquet and attended the holiday program in the auditorium - a treat as always. Wednesday morning we picked her up and headed for Anaheim.
A flower Mickey Mouse greets visitors just inside the entrance to Disneyland. It is a favorite spot for a photograph.
When we arrived, we headed right to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland. The wait was about 20 minutes and the lines snaked though the decor, which included this dinosaur fossil bursting out of the rocks.
Disneyland has the ambience of an early 20th century small town where all the employees are cheerful and polite, the streets are clean, and everyone has fun.
This band plays at 11:30 AM. Notice the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse just in front of Fantasyland Castle. It is at the center of the park, the heart of Disneyland.
Lucy and Thomas are in front of Fantasyland's castle. The holiday theme extends to snowflakes and the poinsetta behind Lucy.
Lynne is obliging a mom and her child for a photo. Note more snowflakes.
Here's Lynne with Mickey Mouse as he signs an autograph.
