Going To Dinosaur National Monument
We left Vernal Thursday morning and headed east to Dinosaur National Monument.
There are plenty of references to paleontology and dinosaurs around the area.
For example, Bedrock Campground is right across from the road leading to the west entrance to Dinosaur National Monument.
There is even a Sinclair "Dino Gas" station at the road to the west entrance to the park. Note the model brontosaurus, green just like in Sinclair's logo .
At US 40 and Utah 149, the road to Dinosaur National Monument, we stopped at the Utah Tourist Information building. The woman there was very helpful. I asked her where we could eat, and she suggested we stop at the snack bar just before the entrance to the park.
Thomas and I had sub sandwiches here for lunch.
While we were waiting for our sandwiches, Dick went out on the deck behind the sub shop. This was the view toward the Green River.

As we drove along Utah 149 to the park, we came closer and closer to the hills. Here you see them directly across from the snack bar.
